Google would like every city, community and individual, that shares our interest in expanding the speed of the Internet, to send letters of support to Congress for pending federal legislation requiring installation of conduit in federally-funded transportation projects.
Efforts are underway at the federal level to require the installation of conduit as part of all federally funded transportation projects:
• Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and Senator Amy Klobuchar have introduced bills that would impose this requirement on all federally funded transportation construction.
• The New America Foundation published an excellent white paper that addresses this issue.
• Google has strongly supported this type of federal initiative.
